Tom Wilson (born October 9, 1951 in Scotland , † March 25, 2004 in Edinburgh ) was a British DJ and music producer . His biggest commercial success was the 1995 single Technocat .
Career
Tom Wilson was first known as a radio DJ . His dance music show Steppin 'Out was heard on Forth FM Radio for 14 years from 1985 and won several awards. Although the broadcast could only be received in east and central Scotland, Wilson gained international fame because some fans sent recordings to Australia , Canada and Hong Kong .
In addition to his job at the radio, the Scot worked as a club DJ and traveled all over the country, but also performed at events . In the early 1990s, Tom Wilson developed into a sought-after music producer . In the next few years he published a large number of his own compilations , such as Bouncin 'Beats and Bouncin' Back . The single Techno Cat made it into the German and British Top 40 in 1995 , Let Your Body Go made it to 60th in the UK in 1996, and U Got the Passion was 92nd in 1998.
After brief engagements with other Scottish radio stations, including Beat 106 and Real Radio, Wilson returned to Forth FM Radio in 2003 as head of music and took on several broadcasts. He died of a heart attack on March 25, 2004 after a brief illness .
