Toma Caragiu

Toma Caragiu (born August 21, 1925 in Hrupista , Greece , † March 4, 1977 in Bucharest ) was a Romanian actor .

Caragiu was equally present on screen, on stage and on screen. He appeared primarily in comedies, but also played in dramas; He had one of his best roles in the film Actorul și sălbaticii (1975).

Caragiu was born into an Aroman family. At the height of his career, he was killed in his home in 1977 during the Vrancea earthquake .

He was the brother of the linguist Matilda Caragiu Marioțeanu (1927-2009).
