Toma Peiu

Toma Peiu (born August 19, 1987 in Bucharest ) is a Romanian screenwriter and public relations expert.

Life

Peiu was born on August 19, 1987 and currently resides in New York . After completing his Bachelor in Audiovisual Culture and Communication, he is now studying scriptwriting at the UNATC IL Caragiale University in Bucharest.

After a short press career, he was involved in the most important film events in Romania and neighboring countries as a jury member, PR and producer (including TIFF, the international animation festival Anim'est, the Gopo prizes and the international film festival NexT).

In 2003 he founded the production company Root Films with Luiza Pârvu. He has been writing and producing films with her since 2009. He is currently receiving a Masters in Film and Media Studies from New School University in New York, USA.

The scripts, which he wrote together with director Luiza Pârvu, have been made into successful short films, including Das Jubiläum ( Aniversarea , 2010) and Draft 7 (2011). My Baby (2013), the latest short film, written by Toma Peiu and directed by Luiza Pârvu, has been shown in over 20 national and international film programs to date.

In 2014 three more short films from the two took part in festivals: A new World (Root Films / NYU Tisch), Alma (Root Films / UNATC Bucureşti) and Dry Bones (Root Films / NYU Tisch).
