Tomahawk (rocket)

The Tomahawk (internal company name TE-416 ) is a sounding rocket that was developed at the beginning of the 1960s by the American company Thiokol for Sandia National Laboratories . Although the Tomahawk could also be launched on its own, it was mainly used in conjunction with other rockets as an upper stage, for example with a Nike rocket as the launch stage ( Nike Tomahawk ).

The Tomahawk developed a thrust of 53 kN and had a burning time of 9.5 seconds. Their diameter was 23 centimeters, the fin span reached 93 centimeters.
