Tomimaru Ōkuni

Tomimaru Ōkuni ( Japanese 大 国 富 丸 , Ōkuni Tomimaru ; * 1931 ) is a Japanese amateur astronomer and retired teacher who lives in Shirataka in Yamagata Prefecture .

He is a distinguished and globally recognized discoverer of asteroids . Between 1995 and 2000 he discovered a total of 127 asteroids at the observatory in Nan'yō ( IAU code 358) in Yamagata prefecture .

The asteroid (7769) Okuni was named after him.
