Tommaso Mottola

Tommaso Mottola (* in Naples ) is an Italian film director and festival director.

Mottola started out in film as an assistant to Marco Ferreri and Miloš Forman . In the mid-1980s he founded the production company “Specter Film”, with which he financed and directed advertising and documentary films. In 1992, L'isola L'ile flottante - L'isola alla deriva , an Italian-Argentine co-production filmed in Patagonia , was shown in just a few performances (the proceeds were 1.1 million lire ), and was shot in Patagonia has been well received at some festivals. Two years later, Mottola founded the short film festival “Capalbio Cinema”, which he still directs today. He also markets films and other Italian cultural products.

Mottola is married to the Norwegian actress Gørild Mauseth .
