Thomas "Tommy" Marc Guerrero (* 9. September 1966 in San Francisco , California ) is an American songwriter , guitarist and former member of the Bones Brigade , a known skaters group of the 1980s, which included Tony Hawk and Steve Caballero belonged .

Life

Early years

Born on September 9, 1966, the son of a secretary for the United States Department of Health in San Francisco , Guerrero quickly discovered his interest in skateboarding through his brother Tony. Guerrero won his first skate competition back in 1983. Then he joined the following year in the famous Bones Brigade of Powell Peralta one. Guerrero became known in this mainly through light-footed skating in his hometown. This was also evident in the films made by the Bones Brigade, such as Future Primitive or The Search for Animal Chin .

Life as a musician

After his active time as a skater, he founded the skateboard company " REAL Skateboards " in 1995 and finally got into the music business. He became the bassist for the bands Free Beer and Jet Black Crayon , but is much more successful as a solo artist. In 1997, Guerrero, who plays Latin House , Downtempo , Art Rock and Alternative Hip-Hop , released his first album "Loose Grooves & Bastard Blues" on the indie label "Galaxia" and started a number of successful albums. In 2004 Rolling Stone magazine selected his third studio album, Soul Food Taqueria , as the second best album of 2003. The album Loose Grooves & Bastard Blues reached number 36 on Spex's 1998 annual list.

Until 2004 he published his works with Mo 'Wax , but after its dissolution he returned to “Galaxia”. Many unreleased songs can be heard alongside his releases in the video game Skate .

Tommy Guerrero is married to Melissa Guerrero.
