Toni Occhiello

Antonio Occhiello (* 1953 in Cerignola ) is an Italian director.

Life

Occhiello made amateur films in his youth and went to Rome in 1971, where he studied political science at La Sapienza University . He worked as a photojournalist for several Italian and French magazines and, after graduating, devoted himself to directing music videos. After a stay to study as a screenwriter and short films as well as an assistant for Steven Spielberg in the United States, Occhiello shot some documentaries and educational films for the RAI and worked for the radio department; The documentaries Rosso Continuo and Las Fiestas de San Luis Rey were made on behalf of the Sociological Faculty of the University of Rome, and were shown at festivals. He was also responsible for two feature films: Majidas from 1989 and Il goiello di Arturo , for which Occhiello was also recognized as best director. Since the mid-1990s he has lived in Los Angeles again , where he writes for magazines and websites.
