Tooma Reservoir is a reservoir on the Tooma River , a tributary of the Murray River in New South Wales , Australia . The reservoir was completed in 1961 and is part of the Snowy Mountains system , 21 km from Khancoban and 95 km from the ski resort of Thredbo in the Snowy Mountains .

Tourist information

There are trout in the reservoir , such as the rainbow trout and the brown trout, which can be fished with boats without special permission. There is a boat ramp, but when taking a boat trip it should be noted that the water level in the reservoir can change quickly. The reservoir is connected to the Snowy Mountains system by the 14.3 km long Tooma Tumut tunnel with a diameter of 3.7 m, which is flooded if necessary.

Camping is possible at the Clover Flat Camping Ground , but you must bring your own drinking water. In the nearest town Khancoban there is a tourist park, hotels and motels.
