history
As early as 1949, Moritz Wagner, the grandfather of today's management generation, began building a factory for the manufacture of wooden chairs at Topstar's location in Langenneufnach near Augsburg. He supplied the local carpenter's shops and later the first furniture dealers such as Möbel Krügel and Die Quelle . Moritz Wagner constantly developed new production technologies to improve the longevity of his products and, with the development of the conical plug connection for gas springs in swivel chairs, laid the foundation stone for the production orientation towards the product swivel chair for the next generation.
In 1976 Michael and Christine Wagner founded Topstar GmbH, which in collaboration with their three sons Rainer, Michael jun. and Peter Wagner developed into one of the largest manufacturers of swivel chairs for the office sector.
Today Topstar GmbH works under the company brand name and has also been building premium products in the high-quality office chair sector under the original Wagner brand since 2006.
