Gate Singsaas

Tor Singsaas (born February 1, 1948 in Hølonda , Norway ) is a Norwegian Lutheran clergyman and bishop emeritus .

Life

Singsaas studied at the Theological College ( Menighetsfakultetet ) in Oslo until 1977 . On January 8, 1978, he was ordained a pastor. He then worked from 1978 to 1991 as a collegiate chaplain in the Nidaros diocese of the Norwegian Church , and from 1991 to 2004 as a chaplain at Nidaros Cathedral . Then he headed the Byåsen provost in Trondheim as provost .

Singsaas was appointed bishop of the Diocese of Nidaros in July 2008 and was consecrated on December 14, 2008. He retired in 2017.

In the period 2012–2015 he heads the board of the Norwegian Bible Society ( Det norske Bibelskapet ).
