Torbat-e Heidarije or Torbat-e Hejdari ( Persian تربت حيدريه Torbat-e Ḩeydarīyeh , also known as Torbat-e Hejdari , Torbat-e-Heidari, and Turbet-i-Haidari ) is the capital of Torbat-e Heidarije administrative district in Razavi-Khorasan Province . In 2016 the city had around 140,000 inhabitants. The name Torbat means burial place in Persian, which is why the name of the city in the entire burial place of Heidar , which was named after the Qotboddin Heidar , a Sufi mystic whose grave is in the heart of the city.

In ancient times the city was known as Zaveh , and in the 19th century as Torbat-e Ishaq Chan or Torbat-e Isa Chan - after Ishaq Chan Qaraei , the powerful and influential chief of the Qaraei tribe, who lived from 1801 to 1816 ruled as semi-autonomous governors Torbat-e Hejdarije and Chaf . The city is located in the heart of the Khorasan Province of Iran. This city is famous for its saffron lands. It ranks first in the world in the production of saffron (or zafaran in Persian).

In ancient times this city was known as Zaveh and in the 19th century as Torbat-e Ishaq Khan or Torbat-e Isa Chan after Ishaq Chan Qaraei, the powerful chief of the local Qarai Turks who served as the semi-autonomous governor of Torbat-e Heydarieh and Khaf ruled from 1801 to 1816.
