Torbay is a suburb of Auckland , New Zealand, about 17 kilometers north of the city center . It is administered by the Auckland Council .
history
The name of the place is derived from the administrative unit of the same name Torbay in the south of England . According to a census in 2013, the place had 4,899 inhabitants in that year.
Attractions
Sights of the place are the Long Bay Regional Park to the north , which with its miles of sandy beach and hiking trails attracts around a million visitors every year and several small public beaches, such as Waiake Beach , Torbay Beach , Winstone's Cove and Ladder Bay .
