Peat gas

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Torfgas is a by dry distillation of peat shown illuminating gas .

The luminosity of peat gas lies between that of coal gas and wood gas . 100 kg of peat produce 20 to 28 m³ of peat gas, 25 to 30 kg of peat coal, 3 to 5 kg of tar and 15 to 28 kg of ammonia water .

The raw peat gas contains up to 30% carbon dioxide and needs 70 kg of lime per 100 m³ of gas for cleaning, which is why it is not suitable for use in large-scale operations.
