Torfinn Iversen (* 1985 in Sortland ) is a Norwegian film director and screenwriter . Iversen studied film studies at Lillehammer University and was trained at Nordland kunst- og filmfagskole . He wrote scripts and directed several short films that were invited to competitions at national and international short film festivals. The best known is Levi's horse , which ran in the Generation 14+ competition at the Berlinale 2012 . In 2013 Iversen received the artist grant from the state of Norway.

In the summer of 2016, Iversen's first feature film “Oskars Amerika” was shot in Norway, produced by Original Film AS in Tromsø. The project received the Eurimages Co-Production Development Award in Amsterdam in 2014. “Oskars Amerika” had its world premiere in the Generation KPlus section at the Berlin International Film Festival in February 2017 and won the award for the best full-length film in the 8+ category at the Lucas Film Festival in Frankfurt .
