Torgeir Bjørn (born March 9, 1964 in Alvdal ) is a former Norwegian cross-country skier .

Career

Bjørn ran his first of 12 individual World Cup races in Lahti in March 1986 , which he finished in 18th place over 15 km freestyle. At his second World Cup in December 1986 in Ramsau am Dachstein , he achieved his first World Cup point with 15th place over 15 km freestyle. At the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary , he came 11th over 50 km freestyle. In March 1988 he won in Oslo with the relay and finished second in Falun with the relay. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti in 1989 , he ran in 27th place over 15 km freestyle. In the 1989/90 season he was in the top ten three times in the World Cup singles. He achieved his best result in the individual World Cup with fifth place over 15 km freestyle in Campra and his best overall result at the end of the season with 16th place in the overall World Cup. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1991 in Val di Fiemme , he achieved 35th place over 15 km freestyle. He completed his last World Cup race in March 1992 in Funäsdalen , which he finished in 46th place over 30 km freestyle.

At Norwegian championships he won in 1989 and 1990 with the relay of Bjerke Idrettslag and in 1993 with the relay of Nannestad Skiklubb . His father was the cross-country skier Kristian Bjørn .
