The tornadoes in the Midwest of the United States occurred in the night of 10 December to 11 December 2021. This tornado outbreak was late in the season.
There were more than 75 dead.

Tornado activity began in Arkansas and Missouri before moving into Illinois , Tennessee, and Kentucky . The tornadoes happened, among others, the cities of Monette and Hayti . As of December 11, at least 52 people had been killed in Arkansas and Tennessee while hundreds were trapped under collapsed buildings. Over 50 people have died in the town of Mayfield , Kentucky.
Help
There was disaster relief and humanitarian aid through the American Red Cross , the Salvation Army, and World Vision . They also collected donations for the affected regions.
On December 11, US President Joe Biden approved a federal disaster declaration for the state of Kentucky. Biden also stated that he would approve emergency declarations for other states if they wanted them. Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear declared a state of emergency for parts of western Kentucky. Beshear also announced the establishment of a tornado relief fund and urged people to donate blood as donated blood has been running out throughout the pandemic.
Reactions
US President Joe Biden expressed dismay at the events:
"I promise you whatever is needed - whatever is needed - the federal government will find a way to provide it."
