Torre Ejecutiva

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Torre Ejecutiva is a building in the Uruguayan capital, Montevideo .

This is a 56 meter high 12-storey building with 29,400 m² of floor space in the center of Montevideo. It is located on Plaza Independencia next to the Palacio Estévez, which is also located there . It was only inaugurated on May 25, 2009 after a 46-year procedure with an unusually long time from the beginning of construction in 1963 to the beginning of use. It was originally planned that it should be available to the Uruguayan judiciary as the Palacio Judical . However, after the Frente Amplio government took over government affairs, it decided to purchase the building and began completion in 2008.

This is currently the seat of the President of Uruguay, who has his office on the top three floors of the Torre Ejecutiva, which are exclusively available to the President's Office. The lower nine floors are divided into two sectors. The following institutions are located there in the first section with a view of Plaza Independencia: the Presidential Office, the Oficina de Planeamiento y Presupuesto (the budget and planning office) and the Oficina Nacional de Servicio Civil (the National Civil Service Office). Administrative offices and international organizations are housed in the second sector on Calle San José.

The construction of the building in the second phase of completion was carried out by the consortium of architects Estudio Cinco .
