Torsås is a place ( Tatort ) in the southern Swedish province of Kalmar län and the historic province of Småland . Torsås is the main town in the municipality of Torsås .
The name is first recorded as Thorsas in 1290 and is made up of the god name Thor and the Swedish ås for mountain ridge . This refers to the ridge on which the church and the place still lie today.
