Broken Comedy was a project of the ProSiebenSat.1 subsidiary RedSeven Entertainment . Various clips from various cooperating producers were presented on the internet platform brokencomedy.de, which users could rate. According to the vote, it was then decided which clips would be shown in the television program broadcast from 2009 to 2011 .
Television broadcast
The aim of the project was to equip production companies with budgets that are lower than usual for TV in order to have them produce short comedy formats for the Internet.
This cost-effective approach should not only give conventional production companies but also young creative workshops (e.g. film schools ) the opportunity to present their own clips. The first six-episode season was broadcast for the first time on July 21, 2009 on ProSieben . Since the second season (nine episodes) the clips have been mixed with stand-up numbers by Carolin Kebekus , whose name now appeared as the only one in the opening credits; There were also scenes in which Serdar Somuncu was a Turkish taxi driver who chauffeured Kebekus on. In the third season, nine more episodes can be seen. The majority of the skits shown on the show, as well as those on the Internet, were created in collaboration with Kebekus.
The theme music is "Rock 'n' Roll Queen" by The Subways . Serdar Somuncu played constantly in the second season (as a taxi driver, snack bar visitor, "Schei $ -T" [rapper from Cologne-Porz ] and others). Torsten Fraundorf, who played the gangster rapper "Fifty Sven", is the head of the Improversum team.
On February 20, 2015, Turbine Home Entertainment released the entire show on DVD.
