Torsten Loibl (born May 1, 1972 in Karl-Marx-Stadt ) is a German basketball coach and currently the head coach of the Japanese national teams 3x3. He works for the Japanese Basketball Federation (JBA).

Life

He began Torsten Loibl's sporting career at the age of 16 as a youth trainer at BSG Lok Karl-Marx-Stadt . Torsten Loibl has been an honorary member of this association (today ESV Lok Chemnitz) since 2012. In 2000 Lobil moved to Japan as the national coach of Saitama Prefecture and stayed until 2002. From 2006 to 2008 he was the head coach of the Japanese first division club Toyota Alvark and from 2011 to 2012 the head coach of Levanga Hokkaido. In the years between his stays in Japan, Loibl was the head coach of ProA -Ligisten BV Chemnitz 99 several times .

Torsten Loibl is President of the Euro Basketball Academy . As a member of the Association for Integration through Sport, Loibl was committed to helping victims of the tsunami disaster of March 11, 2011 . Immediately after the natural disaster, he traveled to the earthquake regions and organized basketball camps for affected children and young people.

Loibl gave several lectures at FIBA ​​Coach Clinics during world championships. Torsten Loibl has been the head coach in 3 × 3 basketball since 2018 and is responsible for all categories. On October 6, 2019, Torsten Loibl celebrated the greater success of his career by winning the 3x3 U23 World Championship.

Torsten Loibl is to look after the Japanese men's national team at the Olympic Summer Games in Tokyo 2020.
