Torsten Rossmann (journalist)

Torsten Rossmann (born July 29, 1963 in Flensburg ) is a German journalist and media manager .

Life

Rossmann studied political science and Scandinavian studies at the University of Hamburg and worked there in the media and politics department . As a journalist, he worked as a freelancer for NDR radio and various newspapers and became head of the electronic media division at text intern . Since 1995 Rossmann has worked for the ProSiebenSat.1 Group as head of communications, where he became group spokesman for the newly founded ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG after the merger of Sat.1 and ProSieben Media AG in 2000 . In 2003 he took over the management of the news channel N24 . From 2007 to 2009 he was also SAT. 1 -Managing Director for Information & Magazine, Marketing and Controlling.

In June 2010, Rossmann and partners bought the station N24 as part of a management buy-out and founded N24 Media GmbH , of which he was Chairman of the Management Board. The N24 group also included MAZ & MORE TV-Produktion GmbH, which u. a. the SAT.1 breakfast television produced. The N24 Group was sold to Axel Springer SE at the end of 2013. Since then Rossmann has been managing director of the newly founded WeltN24 GmbH, in which the news channel N24 and the WELT Group have been merged. Since January 18, 2018, the station has been called WELT.

Since June 2006 he has been chairman of the supervisory board of VG Media , since December 2006 a member of the dpa supervisory board and since January 2017 a member of the AGF supervisory board.
