Toscho Toshev

Toschko Nikolow Toschew (also spelled Toshko Nikolov Toshev , Bulgarian Тошко Николов Тошев ; born December 7, 1942 in Drinowo , Bulgaria ), known as Toscho Toschew (also written Tosho Toshev, Bulgarian Тошо Тошев), is a Bulgarian journalist and author . Between 1991 and 2011 he was also the publisher and editor-in-chief of the daily newspaper Dnewen Trud .

Life

Toschko Toschew was born in the village of Drinowo in the Popowo municipality in northern Bulgaria. He studied Bulgarian Philology at St. Kliment Ohridski University in Sofia . After graduating, he worked for the newspapers "Средношколско знаме" (1965-1967), "Вечерни новини" (1968-1970) and "Народна младеж" (1970-1972) and for the Bulgarian state television program , where he was the last director.

In 1991 Toshev became publisher and editor-in-chief of the newspaper Dnewen Trud and remained as such even after its takeover by the German WAZ media group . In January 2011, the WAZ separated from the newspaper in favor of the Bulgaria media group and Toshhev subsequently lost his post. He then became a member of the media group's supervisory board before giving up this post in August 2011. Toshev also owned the Media Holding publishing house .

In December 2009 it became known that between 1975 and 1990 he worked for the Bulgarian State Security Agency DS under the code name Bor .
