Toshikatsu Endo
Toshikatsu Endō ( Japanese 遠藤 利克 , Endō Toshikatsu ; * 1950 in Takayama , Gifu Prefecture ) is a Japanese sculptor .
life and work
From 1970 to 1972 Toshikatsu Endō studied sculpture at the Nagoya School of Fine Arts ( Nagoya Junior College of Plastic Arts ). He teaches sculpture at their mother university, the Zokei University in Nagoya . In 1975 he had his first solo exhibition at the Lunami Gallery in Tokyo.
Toshikatsu Endō uses the elements water, wood, earth and fire for his large-format sculptures and installations. Endo is influenced by nature , Shinto , Zen and minimalism .
