Tour Eqho ( called Tour Descartes from 1988 to 2011 ) is the name of a high-rise building in the Paris suburb of Courbevoie in the office district of La Défense . Construction began in 1986. When it was completed in 1988, the 131 meter high office tower was the ninth tallest in the La Défense business district. The building has 40 floors above ground and an area of ​​approximately 77,000 square meters. The skyscraper was designed by the architects Fernando Urquijo, Giorgio Macola and Jean Willerval. The main tenant of Tour Eqho is the American IBM group, which has its French headquarters in the building. The building has already been renovated twice, in 2000 and 2012.

The office tower is the Metro station La Defense and the La Defense station to the public transport in the Paris bound.
