Tour de la Martinique
The Tour de la Martinique (German Martinique Tour ) is a cycling race in the French overseas region of Martinique . The stage race leads over the island of the Lesser Antilles in nine stages . The race was first held in 1965 and has taken place every year since then. Only in 1970 the event had to be canceled due to a cyclone . The record winner is Frédéric Delalande , who won the race three times. Today it is classified in the UCI category 2.2 and was part of the UCI America Tour in 2005 and 2008. In 2009 it will again be part of the America Tour .
