The 1st Tour de Mumbai was formed by two one-day races in India that took place on February 11th and 13th, 2011. Both were part of the UCI Asia Tour 2011 and were classified in category 1.1.
Attendees
With the team RadioShack and Liquigas-Cannondale , two ProTeams were at the start. There was also the Professional Continental Team Type 1 and twelve other smaller teams from Asia and Oceania. National teams from Bahrain , Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan were also invited.
Tour de Mumbai I.
The backdrop for the first of the two one-day races was the Nashik Cyclothon , which was held over a distance of 175.5 kilometers on a flat course in and around the city of Nashik , a few kilometers east of Mumbai. The Italian Elia Viviani from Liquigas-Cannondale , who had won the Gran Premio Costa degli Etruschi a few days earlier, was successful in the mass sprint . He relegated the Australian Robbie McEwen from the other ProTeam RadioShack and the South African Tyler Day to their places. As 13th, Florian Bissinger from the Austrian team ARBÖ Gebrüder Weiss-Oberndorfer was the best German.

Tour de Mumbai II
The second race of the Tour de Mumbai took place in downtown Mumbai . A flat circuit to be completed 14 times - a total of 108 kilometers - formed the so-called Mumbai Cyclothon . This race also ended in a mass sprint, this time Robert Hunter, a driver from the other ProTeam RadioShack, was successful, while Viviani was only second. As 21st, Christoph Springer from SP Tableware was the best German.
