Anny Wothe
Anny Auguste Elise Wothe , also Anny Mahn and Anny Wothe-Mahn (born January 30, 1858 in Berlin , † July 30, 1919 in Leipzig ) was a German writer and journalist .
Life
Anny Wothe came from a wealthy merchant family . She attended the French Cathedral School in Berlin and then received private lessons . After the family got into economic difficulties, Wothe went to Leipzig in 1881 , where she worked as a writer . In 1882 she founded the women's magazine Deutsche Frauenblätter , which she edited until 1885 . After the women's papers had been sold , she married the Leipzig bookseller Adolf Mahn in 1885 . In 1888 she and her husband founded the weekly Von Haus zu Haus , which she edited until 1906. Anny Wothe has mainly been a very productive and successful writer of popular literature since the 1880s . During the First World War she wrote trivial perseverance literature.
