The Tourlitis Lighthouse ( Greek Φάρος Τουρλίτης Faros Tourlitis ) is on the small rocky island Tourlitis in the harbor bay of the city of Andros on Cyclades -Insel Andros built. Since its renovation in 1990, it has been one of the city's main attractions.
In 1897 the lighthouse was built on the Tourlitis rock about 200 m northeast of the Venetian fort. The location on an isolated rock is unique in Greece. The tower can be reached via a staircase carved into the rock.
After it was destroyed in a German air raid during the Second World War in 1943, a simple scaffolding tower replaced the lighthouse from 1950. The married couple Alexandros and Marietta Goulandris financially supported the faithful new building in the 1990s. The tower was built from light natural stone with a white gallery and lantern. The height is seven meters. The fire height is 19 meters. Its identification is two white flashes every 15 seconds, the range is six nautical miles .
