Tower 49 is a high-rise office building in Midtown Manhattan , New York City . The 187 meter high skyscraper was designed by Skidmore, Owings and Merrill and has 45 floors. Although it is nowhere near as well-known as its neighbor, the Rockefeller Center , Tower 49 draws attention primarily to its floor plan and is still one of the tallest skyscrapers in Midtown Manhattan. It's located on 48th and 49th Streets on 5th Avenue . Because of its green facade, the high-rise resembles the Park Avenue Plaza , which was built in the same decade, is almost the same height and is not far away .
