The game sees itself as the spiritual successor to the first-person shooters of the late 1990s such as Quake III Arena and Unreal Tournament and advertises accordingly with the slogan “Frag like it's 1999”. The game is based on the current Unreal engine and gives the classic gameplay a modern look.

Course of the game

Toxikk basically consists of elements from earlier shooters . Up to 16 players can play against each other, competing against each other in different worlds in randomly generated teams. During the game the player collects experience points with which he can increase his rank. You can also design your own weapons via Steam in Toxikk with modifications .

In addition to the paid version of the game, there is a free version, but some components such as Steam Workshop support and some options for multiplayer matches are missing. In addition, the various maps in the free version have to be unlocked one by one and only multiplayer achievements can be unlocked.
