Toy Run
Toy Run (. English toy - Toys ', Eng. Run - run') is a charity event of motorcyclists , the procurement of children's toys, for example for children's hospitals and children's homes serving. The charity trips are usually open to all manufacturers and types.
Austria
The Toy Run - the name and genre of this event - has been held every third Sunday in June every year since 1993. All previous trips have taken place in eastern Austria . The route is approx. 100 km long and the departure point is Vienna . The main organizer of the event is Ernstl Graft. He is supported by around 130 volunteers who work on an honorary basis.
During the tour a children's home will be visited, for which money and donations in kind are collected before the start . The selection of the children's home is made in advance and changes annually. Before and after the donation trips, a personal visit ensures that the children in the home are the only beneficiaries of the charity trip. The beneficiary homes undertake to donate the entire amount donated to the children. The costs for material and organization are paid by the organizers, sponsors and participants themselves.
At the 19th Toy Run, 1570 vehicles took part and “received” donations of exactly € 50,000. This sum results from the donations of the bikers in the amount of 31,360.34 € and the donation of 15,000 € surprisingly promised by the Lower Austrian Deputy Governor Wolfgang Sobotka. When the boards, which had been corrected to € 46,360.34, were held up again, Schurli, the head of the event catering company at the Festplatz, picked up the microphone and asked to be allowed to round up the amount, which corresponds to an additional donation of € 3,639.66. The amount of € 50,000 was fully shared among the beneficiary institutions.
The organizer Ernst Graft announced in 2007 that there will only be 20 toyruns. The 20th and last Austrian Toy Run took place on Sunday, June 17th, 2012.

Berlin
The Toy Run Berlin has been collecting toys and monetary donations for Berlin children's homes, daycare centers, youth institutions and women's shelters since 1995 with a demonstration parade against the austerity policy of the Senate across the capital. While only 80 motorcycles came together at the first Toy Run in 1995, the benefit event now attracts up to 800 bikers with all kinds of two-wheelers, mopeds and trikes. The Toy Run has lasted two days for several years. On Saturday, the 90-minute parade will be followed by a large music and family festival with up to 3,000 visitors, where donations will continue to be collected. The big children's festival follows on Sunday, which now attracts more than 1,000 children and parents to the Toy Run. Every year, between 4,000 and 6,000 euros in donations are collected, which are donated quickly, directly and unbureaucratically to needy children and youth institutions.
