The Trabakel ( Italian trabaccolo , also Trabakk) was an Adriatic , especially Dalmatian two-masted sailing ship of the 17th and 18th centuries.

The ship was used as an all-purpose sailor for coastal travel and fishing between the offshore islands and the mainland.

The special thing about the Trabakel was that it was sails with so - called half-frame sails . As Halbrahsegel large are Rahsegel called that and a pile of poles, only one- Rah a horizontal standing gaff were driven (half a yard), similar. Above this sail there was a small square top sail on each mast . A large jib was used on the bowsprit . The length of the vehicles was about 30 meters and the width 6 meters. This coastal sailor had a continuous deck between the masts. The stem was bent inward.

This type of ship is similar to the smaller Brazzera and Peligo in the same range.

The peligo was a special variant of the trabacle . The ship was a two-master with two lug sails and two jibs. She had a top mast on the aft mast, a mizzen sail and a triangular topsail. This is the most common form of the Adriatic coastal sailor. It was used until the beginning of the 20th century. The length of the ships was about 17 meters and the width 6 meters. The draft was about 2 meters. The crew consisted of four seamen. The most common loads are food, wood, live animals and general cargo.
