The Brachstedt transformer tower is a listed building in the Brachstedt district of the Petersberg municipality in Saxony-Anhalt . In the local register of monuments it is recorded as a monument under registration number 094 56012 .

The Brachstedt transformer tower in Alte Dessauer Strasse , formerly Hallesche Strasse , is a former transformer station . The construction of smaller, compact transformer stations with standardized construction elements made many of these transformer stations inoperable. The Brachstedt transformer tower was the first transformer tower in the Saalekreis to be converted into a species protection tower in 1997 . The ornithologist Gerfried Klammer from Landsberg supported the renovation of the tower . Today the tower serves as a nesting aid for barn owls and 25 barn owl cubs were counted from 1997 to 2011.
