Training center for the release of the Atma energy

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The training center for the release of Atma energy (also known as Atman Foundation ) was a new religious movement and was mainly active in Tenerife ( Spain ) and in Germany . The sect achieved greater notoriety through suspicion of planning collective suicide in Tenerife. To prevent this, there was a police operation on January 8, 1998. According to Georg Schmid , the group believed in the end of the world and expected to be rescued by spaceships, but had no intention of committing group suicide. Initially, the group was believed to have split off from the Order of the Sun Templars . However, it was a splinter group of the Brahma Kumaris .
