The Transportation Technology Center ( TTCI ) is a test railroad track near Pueblo , Colorado . The site was selected in 1969 for the construction of a High Speed ​​Ground Test Center , a test track for air cushion tracks . In 1974, however, this was demolished. After that, the facility was owned by the Federal Railroad Administration and was privatized to the Association of American Railroads (AAR) on January 1, 1998 .

The test route has a total length of 77 km in seven sections: heavy goods route for high axle loads , wheelset test route (5.6 km), test ring (21.7 km, maximum speed 265 km / h), local traffic test route (14.6 km, with conductor rail and overhead line ), Impact test track (1.2 km), precision measurement track (10.0 km) and driving dynamics test track.
