Escalonias Trappist monastery
The Trappist monastery Las Escalonias is a 1994 Spanish monastery of Trappist monks in Hornachuelos, near Posadas (Spain) , Diocese of Córdoba (Spain) .
history
Monks of the monastery La Oliva (Navarra) began in 1986 on the Guadalora river , in the Valle Medio del Guadalquivir region , 50 kilometers west of Córdoba , the pre-foundation Santa María de las Escalonias (from: Escallonia , "Andean bush"), which in 1994 became an official foundation was convicted. The monastery maintains an orange plantation of 6000 trees.
