The Trappist Nsugbe is since 1986 Nigerian monastery of Trappist monks in Nsugbe , Anambra , Archdiocese of Onitsha .

history

Since 1967 the Archbishop of Onitsha and later Cardinal Francis Arinze wanted a Cistercian monastery at his bishopric and turned to the Trappist Abbey of Bamenda for the request . But it wasn't until 1986 that the monastery Our Lady of the Angels (“Our Lady of the Angels”) was founded on the eastern edge of Onitsha. In 2000, with the support of the Trappist Abbey Nunraw, it became a real foundation (with a novitiate ) Priory was raised.
