Trappist convent Esmeraldas
The Trappist Monastery of Esmeraldas , official name Monasterio de Santa María de la Esperanza , has been an Ecuadorian monastery of the Trappist women in Esmeraldas , Apostolic Vicariate of Esmeraldas , since 1992 .
history
The Spanish Trappist Abbey of Tulebras founded the nunnery Monasterio de Santa María de la Esperanza (Mary Hope) on the Río Esmeraldas in Ecuador in 1992 , which was elevated to an independent priory in 2000 . The founding bishop was Vicar Apostolic Enrico Bartolucci Panaroni MCCJ (1928–1995).
