Trappist Abbey of Tulebras

The Trappist Abbey of Tulebras has been a Spanish monastery since 1151, first for the Cistercian women , in Tudela , Navarra , since 1157 ten kilometers south of Tudela near Cascante , and there since 1957 for the Trappist women .

history

The Cistercian Abbey of Fabas in southern France founded the Santa María de la Caridad de Tulebras (caridad = charity) abbey in the Archdiocese of Pamplona y Tudela in Spain in 1151 , the first Cistercian convent outside France. The monastery founded six daughter monasteries in the 12th century and has survived to the present, since 1957 as a Trappist abbey.
