The Trechower See is located in the municipality of Bernitt in the Rostock district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The eponymous district of Kurzen Trechow with the manor house Burg Trechow is located on the south and east banks of the lake. The western area is used for agriculture. The lake is a little indented body of water with a water surface of about 28 hectares. The lakeshore has a reed belt around it.
It is approximately 900 meters long and up to 450 meters wide.
