The Trelleborgsee is a lake on the western outskirts of Neumünster in the municipality Wasbek in the German state of Schleswig-Holstein . It is approximately 7.5 hectares and up to 10 m deep. The typical quarry pond is a former gravel pit and was created in 1969 as part of the construction of the A7 in order to cover the corresponding raw material requirements for building materials. South of the water there was a production facility of the Trelleborg company , which gave the water its name. The Schmalenbrooksbek flows through the lake.
