The festival Trenck der Pandur vor Waldmünchen is an annual open-air festival in Waldmünchen .

history

The year 1742 brought the effects of the Austrian War of Succession to Waldmünchen. The pandurenobrist Franz Freiherr von der Trenck besieged the city with his Pandurs and demanded contribution payments .

Festival

Since 1950, the festival has been performed with more than 300 amateur actors on the open-air stage in Waldmünchen. The historical open-air festival was based on an idea by Otto Peisl , the game version originally came from Dr. Georg Walberer. The days of September 1742 form the historical background for the open-air festival.
The motif of the three riders was designed by Georg Achtelstetter .
