Trenes Especiales Argentinos SA (TEA) is an Argentine railway company that operates long-distance trains between the Argentine capital Buenos Aires and the provincial capital Posadas ( Misiones ).

After the privatization of the state railway company Ferrocarriles Argentinos in the early 1990s, almost all Argentinian long-distance rail connections were discontinued in 1993. On the Ferrocarril General Urquiza , this affected numerous connections, including the then very well-known connection El Gran Capitán (Buenos Aires – Posadas).

In 2003, the private transport company Trenes Especiales Argentinos introduced a comparable transport connection between the Federico Lacroze train station in the capital via Villaguay and Posadas. To tie in with the traditional connection, it also bears the name El Gran Capitán . The train runs twice a week between Buenos Aires and Posadas, the timetable stipulates a journey time of 26 hours, which is usually significantly exceeded due to the lack of track. A total of four car classes are offered ( Turista , Primera , Pullman , Dormitorio ). You can also load your own car.
