Triacontamerone

Triakontameron is a series of 30 pieces and an epilogue for piano , composed in 1919/1920 by Leopold Godowsky .

Emergence

Each of the pieces was written on a single day and they are all in three-quarter time . The title was inspired by Boccaccio 's Decameron . The best-known parts of the suite include the pieces entitled Old Vienna , Night Tangier and Ethiopian Serenade . They were first published as Triakontameron, Thirty Moods and Scenes in Triple Measure on May 19, 1920.
