Tricot (band)

Tricot is a math rock band from Kyoto , Japan. Known for her intricate rhythms and physical appearance, she has released four EPs and three albums to date. Rolling Stone magazine described it as "adrenalized, fast math rock with pop icing" (English: "Adrenalized math rock sped up and given pop's candy coating"). She has toured extensively in Japan , but has also given concerts outside of Japan in Singapore , Great Britain and Europe.

In 2015 she made her first North America tour, followed by the first tour through Europe in 2016.

history

In 2011, when Kazutaka Komaki joined the band as a drummer, she founded her own label Bakuretsu Records. In 2013 she released her first album THE , which landed at number 18 on the Oricon album charts. In 2014 she toured Europe, playing at four festivals. Among other things, she played as a support for the Pixies at the Eden Sessions in Great Britain. In 2014 Komaki left the band due to musical differences. The band's third album, 3 , was released in 2017 and promoted through a world tour and tour of 47 prefectures of Japan. At the last concert of the tour it was announced that Yuusuke Yoshida, who had been the band's tour drummer since 2016, will be taken over as a permanent member and thus the band's second official drummer.
