Erhard Landt

Erhard Landt (born June 22, 1900 in Teterow , † January 1, 1958 in Berlin ) was a German physicist and university professor.

Life

After attending a secondary school , Landt studied mathematics, physics and chemistry at the universities of Rostock, Frankfurt, Göttingen and Hamburg from 1918 to 1924. It was in 1924 at the University of Hamburg at the Jewish physicist Otto Stern doctorate in 1925 at the Technical University of Berlin employees of Max Volmer . From 1927 to 1937 he worked at the Institute for the Sugar Industry , headed by Oskar Spengler . In June 1932 , Landt completed his habilitation at the Agricultural University in Berlin for the subject of sugar technology. In the same year he also became a member of the NSDAP and the SA . From 1936 to 1942 Landt was Lecturer Association Leader and Head of Lecturer at the University of Berlin. In 1937 he succeeded Otto von Baeyers as an associate professor at the University of Berlin, and became its prorector at the instigation of Joseph Goebbels . The full professorship followed the following year. Landt was called up in 1943, but was given an exemption for lectures. In 1945 Landt was fired. In 1948 he was classified as a "fellow traveler" in the arbitration chamber proceedings . In 1948, Landt accepted an appointment at the University of Saarbrücken, but returned to Berlin in 1952.

Landt died on New Year's Day 1958 of complications from a heart attack. In the last years of his life he researched the physics of fiber filters .
