Trigonum submentale

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Trigonum submentale (English submental triangle )

The submental trigonum (children's triangle) is an unpaired sub-region of the anterior cervical region ( regio cervicalis anterior ). It is bounded above by the chin , below by the hyoid bone and on both sides by the front belly of the digastric muscle . The kin triangle is laterally bordered by the lower jaw triangle ( Trigonum submandibulare ) and at the bottom by the muscle triangle ( Trigonum musculare sive omotracheale ). It is covered by the superficial sheet of the neck fascia , which forms a delimited space, the submental box . The chin lymph nodes (Nll. Submentales) are located in it. The mylohyoid muscle forms the bottom of the children's triangle .
