Pump room and waiting room

The pump room and waiting hall is a monument in the Cologne district ruler .

The combined waiting and drinking hall was created in 1950 based on a design by Cologne architect Walter Salz on Höninger Platz at the terminus of the Cologne transport company . It is located opposite the main entrance of the Cologne South Cemetery .

The steel frame construction is clad waist-high with stone in the lower area . The upper area is completely glazed all around with lattice structure and has a cantilevered flat roof. A wooden building with the same function had already stood there . The hall is divided into two parts. The area of ​​the former waiting hall is now mainly used to store drinks.
