The Tripp Island is an island off the Scott Coast of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It is located in the southern part of Tripp Bay .
Participants in the Nimrod expedition (1907-1909) of the British polar explorer Ernest Shackleton discovered and mapped the island. It is named after the New Zealander Leonard Owen Howard Tripp (1862–1957), who was helpful to the expedition.
